It is about a $4 difference in cost for me. $4 less, that is, than joining as a new member. I honestly don't know if I can afford the cost this year and if I find I can, I am considering joining as a new member because my pen ran out and I can use a new keychain , and for a $4 dif I may as well.

renew or not to renew...... I'm still waiting for my email notice telling me how much they enjoyed having me as a member and inviting me to renew. Any bets that I don't get one? *giggles madly*

Let's see.... what did I get for my money last year...
Sound check pass I didn't use b/c Darren never made it to Canada. Oooh priority booking for the imaginary concerts he had in Canada. A pen and key chain that I'm sorry to say... I'm too embarrassed to use... I don't want to have to explain who or what the d-zine is...
Essentially all I got for my money was the zine. Which is exciting until you get it. Then it's full of nonsense and patronising crap. I can't stand spelling mistakes in print items I pay for. I didn't find the content all that informative and the photos haven't done much for me. Love the dog pics but only 'cause I love dogs.
I almost forgot the FC board I never go on and the right to the Darren chats I'm never around to attend.
I'm too busy for this stuff and really can't afford it now. When the new CD comes out I'll buy it for sure... but there's just no motivation for me to join this year.
I'd love to be able to support Darren but I think he'll survive if I keep my money to support myself.
Sorry for the rant and ramble.
Hugs -- Chai
P.S.
I only like dreams if they're mine.

I think alot of people will join the FC for the just in case aspect. I mean just in case they get to meet Darren, just in case he chats with them, Just in case they get breaking exciting news. Its a way for people to feel somehow part of something. Some people just genuinely admire the man and think its all well worth it and join and I dont have a problem with that. I of course will abstain once again.. its tough but someones gotta do it LOL
as for their teenybopper virginity romantic dreams gaaaaaaah gimmee a break. Noone is interested.. but hey these are probably their first sexual dreams and I dont know they need to share and scare LOL

Well i think i should have started saving up last year cos there is no way i am gunna be able to join at this rate!! I only hav a little saturday job which pays ?15 each saturday and just about all of that goes onto my phone so i can use that. Even though i have ?5 already put by i will wait for the so-called email then i will have to start saving big time
And thank god i am not the only one who doesnt like the dreams. They reveal a persons inner thoughts and feelings, not something i really want to go into on a messageboard, even though there are some very odd dreams (or very odd people dreaming them).

LOL
I'm a bit surprised that I got a renewal e-mail, to be honest. I don't really think that I fit their ideal fan profile.

As for the f/c, I think it's expensive, especially as you're basically paying for nothing, seeing as how the person for whom it's set up for is doing/has done diddly squat so far this year and, to be honest with you, I'm not convinced that he will tour again in time for any new soundcheck passes to be used.
Of course, then again he might, but that still doesn't make it worthwhile enough for me to renew my membership. *shrugs*

I agree with that. They haven't done 'jack' in my opinion and I'm sick of receiving a magazine that is full of pretty much usless stuff like Leonie's diary (no offense to anyone who likes it) I paid money for Darren, not Leonie.
And as for soundcheck passes, I still have mine because Darren never toured American and I doubt he ever will. I might as well use that sticker on my computer desk. I definatly wont be renewing. That's my two cents though.
